iSawYou is for the moment you noticed someone and wished you'd said something. Describing the person you saw, what they wore, and where and when you saw them is what the site is for. Be warm, be honest, have fun - and remember the person you're writing about didn't ask to be written about. Every sighting is posted by a real person, and every member is an adult.
- Flirting, compliments and saying you found someone attractive ("you were gorgeous", "great smile", "nice legs").
- Desire, steamy innuendo and forward invitations ("I wanted to kiss you", "drinks, then my place?") - as long as it doesn't spell out sex.
- Every kind of post: I Saw You, Look 4 Me, Give Thanks, Rave About, Rant About, Zone News and Other. Jokes and odd posts are fine.
- Raves and rants about places, service, food and prices - opinions are fine.
- Photos of people in public, including clear faces. Anyone in one can ask us to take it down.
- Details that help someone know it's them: the place you saw them, their first name, where they work, their car and its licence plate, a flight or seat number.
- Anything sexual involving someone who is or looks under 18. We report it to the authorities.
- Threats of violence or harm, or encouraging it.
- Explicit or intimate images: nudity, genitals, sexual activity, or images taken up a skirt, down a top, in a changing room or bathroom, or through a window.
These are hidden until one of our team has looked at them:
- Explicit sex: spelling out sex acts or describing genitals, or crude demands for sex.
- Graphic violence.
- Hate: slurs, or attacking people for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or similar.
- Anything that sounds like watching or following someone: saying you know where they live or followed them home, "I'll find you", or repeated posts about the same person. Seeing someone every morning on your commute is fine.
- Spam and scams: ads, selling, shop links, asking for money, recruiting for sex work.
- Accusations about a private person or small business: claiming someone committed a crime, cheated, has a disease, or that a small business steals or is unsafe. Opinions are fine; accusations need a person to look.
- Photos that focus on someone's body in a sexual way, catch someone in a private or vulnerable moment, or mainly show someone who may be under 18.
- New and edited sightings, their photos, and the first message of a connection request are checked automatically by an AI classifier. Only the clearest, most serious cases are removed automatically; a person decides everything else.
- Whatever happens to your post, you're told what and why. If it was removed, you can ask for a review once, and a person will look again.
- Phone numbers, email addresses and social handles are taken out of posts automatically. Use Connect to swap details.
- Flags from members ask us to look again; a flag never takes a post down by itself.
- Breaking these guidelines can mean losing a post, losing features, or losing your account. Serious or repeated breaches mean we close the account.
Tap Flag on any sighting and choose "This post is about me". Use it if you're in a photo and want it removed, if a post identifies you or shares your details, or for any other legal concern - you don't need an account. Intimate images shared without consent are hidden as soon as they're reported and handled within 48 hours.
- Icebreaker writes under these same rules and leaves out anything that breaks them. What you post with it is still yours, and it says "Written with Icebreaker". Pictures of the place it adds never show a person.
- Sending alerts puts your sighting straight in front of the people it could be about, so only Verified members can do it, and only for sightings that passed moderation. Using alerts to target or pester someone ends your access to them.
