Sighting

In the first days of April last year, we were in the spa pool at the same time.
You were there with a group of friends, speaking a language I couldn’t quite place — not Spanish, French or English.

We caught each other’s eyes several times. Long enough to notice.

I was there with a male friend, and maybe that made things look different than they were.

What surprises me is that almost a year later, I still think about those glances from time to time — even though, technically, nothing really happened.
