Sighting

This may be a long shot…

I saw you on the platform at Hampstead Heath Overground at around 8:15pm on Wednesday 12 August, after watching the eclipse from Parliament Hill. We were waiting for the train towards Stratford, right at the end of the platform.

I was the guy with my Chilean friend, wearing a denim shirt and jeans, khaki cap and Blundstone boots. You were the handsome brown-haired, bearded guy in shorts and a T-shirt, holding a big book that looked like you were almost at the end of.

I had the feeling you were looking at me, and I was definitely looking at you, although too shy to properly hold your gaze.

We got into the first carriage and somehow ended up sitting right next to you on the three-seater. My friend got off at Highbury & Islington, leaving me with the perfect opportunity to say hello… which of course I didn’t. I got off at Canonbury instead, immediately wishing I’d been a little braver and stayed on the train.
