Sighting

We first made eye contact while passing through train carriages traveling from Edinburgh, Waverley Station on Tuesday, October 7th, at around 3:00pm. You have curly red hair and you got off at Dunbar.

I was absentmindedly maneuvering my suitcase when I looked up and saw you trying to pass into the next train carriage. I apologized for being in the way and in response you gave me a really warm, sweet smile. I didn’t react at all 🤦🏽‍♀️, but I definitely felt a connection.

My friend and I then walked past you in the carriage with open seating (you sat at a table by yourself), and I noticed you were writing in a notebook. I wanted to sit with you, but I was shy and decided to sit close by instead.

I told my friend about you and she noticed that you kept looking at me, and I was hoping you’d come over to speak to me. I wish I had done that myself.

You got off at the stop soon after leaving Waverley Station. You gave me one final, intense glance and left.

I really regret that we didn’t speak to each other, but maybe lightning will strike a second time and we’ll meet again.
