Sighting

You were wearing a bright colored backpack, reading a book, and waiting in line for the mixed bathing pond. It was Monday evening (today). My two friends (I met both of them yesterday) stood directly behind you and I stood behind them. I thought we were exchanging curious glances, so I went up to you to talk. We all introduced ourselves and began talking about the book you were reading. One of my friends joked around, not taking it seriously. You seemed uncomfortable. Then, you moved towards the back of the line to join your friend, who had arrived later. I sat down, exhausted, and regretted letting you go. I wanted to know you. After some time hesitating, I worked up the courage to find you in the line but you were gone.
