I’ve tried to forget, but I keep thinking about this.

We first crossed paths in the Calama airport, and I think we were both startled at how much our vibes matched. But being in an airport, not prepared or in the mindset to interact.

We ended up at the same gate, with a flight to Santiago. I waited after other passengers had boarded to get in line, while you were still at the seating area. I thought I was the last one on board.

But fast forward several hours later, now in Santiago thousands of miles away, getting in line for international flights. Then suddenly there you are, walking in an adjacent security line.

You made it through your line before I did. But while everyone else busily grabs their belongings and rushes off to their gates as people do at an airport, you took your suitcase and stood there, looking at your phone but almost as if waiting.

That was my chance, I guess. But I was a coward and my nerves were high. I didn’t like that feeling. I walked past everyone including you to focus on reaching my gate. After all, I was in an airport, no place for hitting on someone.

But now I wonder why our styles matched so well.
