Sighting

This is probably a long shot, but I thought I’d give it a try.

We met in the lift at the apartment building in Chiang Mai on the morning of 1 February. You were already in the lift when I got in on my way down to the gym. I was wearing gym clothes.

You’re Spanish, really tall, tanned, with a buzz cut, and honestly one of the most handsome people I’ve ever seen. I remember us catching each other’s eye as soon as I stepped into the lift. You said hi first and we ended up chatting for a couple of minutes. I can’t remember everything we talked about, but I do remember you telling me you were from Spain and that you’d been to Chiang Mai the year before, loved it, and had come back again.

When we got out, you said, “See you around,” which made sense because we were living in the same building. I genuinely thought we’d bump into each other again, but somehow we never did.

I don’t know your name, and I don’t even know if you told me and I’ve forgotten, but if by some miracle you see this and remember the girl who got into the lift on her way to the gym that morning, I’d love to hear from you.
